Конференција за младе економисте “BYEC 2019”

Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade in collaboration with the UniCredit and Universities Foundation and UniCredit Bank, Association of Economists of Serbia and Scientific Society of Economists of Serbia organized the two-day international Young Economists Conference on June 23-24. The annual conference was established in 2011 with the aim to support young researchers from around the world in their further academic development.

This year, the competition from the PhD students and recent graduates from the leading international schools was stronger than ever. In the end, 11 people received the honor of presenting their papers at the meeting. This year, two papers shared UniCredit Foundation Best Paper Award: Atabek Atayev, PhD student from University of Vienna, Austria with the paper titled Search in Markets with Uncertain Product Availability and Jiri Knesl, PhD student from University of British Columbia, Canada with the paper titled Automation and the Displacement of Labor by Capital: Asset Pricing Theory and Empirical Evidence. UniCredit and Universities Foundation from Milan awarded the winners a prize to the amount of EUR 750 each. In addition, the foundation provided travel grants for participants on competitive basis.
